Well, this is a good piece of news for 10-man raiding. Weapons that drop in hard-mode Ulduar-10 fights are being buffed from ilvl 226 to ilvl 232, a jump of half a tier. Players who have these weapons already will see them adjusted. This puts the Ulduar-10 hard-mode weapons on par with the Ulduar-25 normal-mode weapons, a situation that was already the case for armor rewards (Ulduar-25 normal-mode weapons have always been ilvl 232).
My own casual-ish guild is only four bosses into Ulduar at the moment, so this doesn’t affect me personally, but it makes sense to see hard modes drop quality rewards. I wonder if this will increase the number of guilds attempting them. Now how about a shot at Val’anyr, eh? Or perhaps a Druid tanking idol somewhere in Wrath before Ulduar-25? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

There’s been an active thread for the past few weeks called “Stealth Nerf to Elemental,” wherein Elemental shamans voice concerns that their DPS fell in patch 3.1. Blizzard assures us that there was no intention to nerf Elemental DPS in the patch, and that they couldn’t find any bugs.
However, they must have come to the conclusion that Elemental was a bit low, because they’re hotfixing in a buff to Lightning Overload. Currently, it has a 7/13/20% chance to proc; when the hotfix goes in (“sometime over the next couple of days”), it will be raised to an 11/22/33% chance, although the tooltip will not change (this will be fixed in a patch).
Ghostcrawler’s estimate is that this will be about a 5% to a raid-buffed shaman, but they’ll keep an eye on it, and further buffs will ensue if necessary.

Welcome Warlocks! This week, Nick is taking a break from your regularly scheduled Blood Pact to bring you a 71-80 leveling guide! About time, eh?
Wrath of the Lich King brought us Northrend, Naxxramas, and of course, ten more levels of DoTing, Rain of Firing, Shadow Bolting Warlockery. So saddle up your Dreadsteed, and float or fly your way to the frozen north–crown of the world. It’s time to get diabolic. And this time, it’s personal.
Transitioning from Outland to Northrend is a lot like transitioning from vanilla-WoW content to Outland was. The mobs hit a little harder, and the gear is a little better. The step up isn’t quite as sudden or as large as it was last time, but you definitely want to take a good look at some of those quest greens you’re offered, and it’s best not to take a level 68 Vrykul too lightly. They’re kinda mean.
These last 10 levels are rather straightforward in comparison with their predecessors. If you’ve made it this far, then what you’re going to see over the next 10 levels is mostly just an inflation of your

WoW authors seem to be in the spotlight of late and after their last live chat with Arthas authoress Christie Golden, WorldofWar.net have already got the next one – this time with Richard A. Knaak – set up.
Taking place this Thursday — that’s May 14th — at 8pm EST, the live chat is mainly focusing on Knaak’s latest novel Night of the Dragon, which was released just a few days before Wrath. It continued the adventures of Blue Dragon Kalec and Krasus of the Red Dragonflight. The storyline is particularly relevant to Wrath as it introduces the Twilight Dragonflight (Sarth’s minions in Obsidian Sanctum).
Check out the site to sign up and find out the time in your country.

Each week Arcane Brilliance examines the magical majesty of Mages, and usually makes fun of the wimpy whininess of Warlocks. See that? That’s some crazy alliteration right there. Also, I’d like to call attention to the fact that Arcane Brilliance called Warlocks whiny. Oh, snap! Coming from a column about Mages, that has to burn, right? And no complaining in the comments section, Warlocks. Arcane Brilliance wow goldpokes good-natured fun at you every week. Don’t act surprised.
I know what you’re thinking. Fire? In PvP? When you buy the game, doesn’t it say right there on the box: “Embark on epic quests. Form powerful alliances. Engage an ever-changing world. Just for the love of God, don’t take a Fire Mage into PvP”? If I remember right, I think it does.
When I first installed this game on my computer about four years ago and quested my zombie Mage all the way to level 10, the first talent point I ever spent was in the Fire tree, and I then spent the next sixty levels happily setting things ablaze. I discovered PvP somewhere around level 45,

Upper Deck has released the first expansion to the WoW minis game, called Spoils of War. The new set of figures introduces legendary lore figures like Jaina and Kael’thas into the mix, and they can now jump onto the gameboard with player characters and duke it out in the streamlined Arena-style turn-based battles. The new set also contains Action Bar cards, which can modify your characters and party’s abilities before a battle (like casting a Wrath of Air totem to modify all of your team’s die rolls). And finally, the new expansion also brings items into the mix, so there’s one more medium in which you can wield Sulfuras, the Hand of Ragnaros. (And no, unfortunately, real life isn’t one… yet.)
The new set is available in booster packs at a hobby and collectible store near you — the MSRP is about $14.99, but they’ll probably be around for cheaper than that eventually, if they’re not already. If you’re a regular player of the minis game, it sounds like it’ll be a must-have addition, and if you’ve never picked it up

“So, my ward, tell me what you’ve learned here today. Actually stay at a flag to defend after you assault it? Don’t fight pointlessly in the middle of nowhere? And definitely don’t follow that mage off the cliff, no matter how low his health is? Excellent. You have learned well, young Salandria. Now can you run around like a demented chicken for a while while I hide behind this bush? I’m trying to get someone close enough to mind control.”
(Thanks to Yamichan of Dragonmaw, who took this pic of her defense lessons in AB.)

Every Wednesday, Chase Christian of Encrypted Text invites you to enter the world of shadows, as we explore the secrets and mechanics of the Rogue class. This week, we discuss some of the tricks and strategies behind Rogues in 2v2.
An old friend approached me last week with the prospect of playing some 2v2 arena with his mage, who had recently hit level 80. Luckily his rolls are wow goldamazingly gifted, and he already had a pretty nice set of gear to play with. I equipped my Sinister Revenge and switched one of my dual specs to Mutilate, and that night we entered the arena to play as one of my favorite comps (behind Rogue+Rogue of course!).
Because of my high ratings in Season 5, we were instantly matched against 2000+ players in our very first games. While 2000 isn’t quite ‘Gladiator’ status yet, we were definitely playing teams with some experience under their belts. I had a great time playing, as it was my first set of arena games since the end of Season 5. Mage & Rogue is a comp with some very potent synergy, and a fast-paced playstyle that brings out the best in

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider’s daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.
There was a good, and amazingly civil, discussion yesterday in the comments to the Queue about which instance a tank should head to first. Most of the debate came about via my suggestion that Utgarde Pinnacle was a good candidate for a tank’s first heroic. The nice thing about this game is that there is no right or wrong answer (most of the time).
However one of the only truths about the game is that you can get better at it by discussing it and debating the aspects of it with other people. So I do humbly recommend that no matter what question you ask, you always look for more than one answer and compile all the answers into one that fits you best. And with that said, ask your wow goldquestions about the game in the comments and we’ll see if we can’t help you on this path of enlightenment. /zen
Otharello mentioned…

Wello posted his Van Helsing Trailer over on Myndflame, with some commentary that I found pretty interesting. First, it’s his fourth video, and the one he feels best about. More importantly, Wello said that he’d searched far and wide for anyone else who’d already created a Van Helsing trailer. He found none, so immediately made one himself. He considered it his “time to shine.”
It’s easy to forget that the creation of machinima is usually sourced in an author’s passion for the subject. Okay, so while Hugh Jackman rocking a crossbow and funny hat might not be humanity’s key pathos, it’s something for which Wello has a lot of love. (Hell, maybe Hugh Jackman is a strong enough collective obsession, anyway, given what opened this weekend.) Machinimators don’t make a bunch of money off their work, it’s entirely a labor or love.
The video itself is pretty keen. It’s just a stylized recreation of the video, using stand-ins from WoW for the various actors. I was a little surprised to see Kate Beckinsale turned into a Blood Elf,
